Everybody knows how sticky glass is, after you tried to peel of the sticker. You instantly regret that you even began.

My grandmother recently taught me these two tricks that works! The glue from the sticker easily comes off with these tricks.

The first picture is of two jars of jam I emptied and wanted to use for a project, and the second is afterwards I tried to peel the stickers of with my fingers - not a very good job!

All you need is:

  • Hot water and soap

Or

  • Alcohol/ spirit and a paper towel

Soak It in Soap and Hot Water

Yes, soak it in soap and water! This is trick number one, and it mostly works! After I soaked them in the hot soapy water for about 40 minutes, the sticker came right of using a nail, and jar number one became glue free and really nice to touch.

But... It also depends on the glue the company used. And unfortunately, as you can tell, it only did the trick for one of the jars I had. As you can tell on the last picture, it was still extremely sticky and full of glue! It was impossible to get of :(

But then I remembered my grandmothers trick, and I tried it.

Alcohol/ Spirit and a Paper Towel

Trick number two is really simple, but not a lot of people know this. All you need is some alcohol/ spirit. Put some on a paper towel, and rub the jar a little bit. The glue will slowly disappear, and your jar will become nice and smooth.

Done!

Now you can put whatever you want to into your jar. Nice and clean, not sticky :)

Good luck!
