Starburst Rainbow Loom Bracelet

Anyone can do the starburst bracelet. After months of not doing rainbow loom, I tried starburst for the first time, and had a success after a few tries.

For beginners, or people who want detailed tutorials, here is my instructable on how to make the Starburst Bracelet.

Choosing Your Bands

image.jpg
Gather the bands you want to use.

I will be using white for the border, and Violet and Black for my starbursts.

Gather Your Supplies

Other than your bands, you will need:

One Loom
One Hook
2 C or S Clips

Starting the Border

Flip your loom so that your arrow is pointing away from you, and the middle peg comes down further than the left and right.

Place your first border band from the middle lowest peg to the left lowest peg, and push it down.

Place your second band from the first left peg to the second left peg, and push it down.

Continue this pattern until you get to the last middle peg at the top.

Your Loom should look like the last picture.

Finishing the Border

Place your border color from the bottom middle peg to the first right peg, and push it down.

Continue the pattern up until you get to the middle most peg at the top.

Make sure you are pushing your bands down.

Starting the Starbursts

Take your first starburst color and put it from the second middle peg to the 2nd right peg, and push it down.

Stretch the second band from the second middle peg diagonally to the first right peg.

Continue clockwise until you get to the 3rd middle peg.

The sequence continues to the first middle peg, the first left peg, the second left peg, and the third middle peg.

The bands should make a sort of star or asterisk shape. Make sure you are pushing down your bands as you go along.

Starbursts Continued

Take your second starburst color and go to the next peg. The band should go from the 4th middle peg to the 4th right peg.

Continue the clockwise pattern shown in step 5 until you get to the last middle peg. Make sure to push your bands down as you go.

Keep making the starbursts until you get to the top. Your loom should look like the last picture.

Placing the Cap Bands

Make two cap bands, and put them on the first and last middle pegs, like the pictures shown. You can use any color for the cap bands, but I find it easiest to use the Border color.

Then, place a cap band in the center of every starburst, as shown.

You will only need to add one more band, towards the end of the bracelet. We are done with placing bands.

Starting to Loop the Staburts

This might be the first hard part, if you haven't made this bracelet before. Don't get too upset if you can't get it, it took me a few tries to successfully make my first starburst.

What you want to do, is flip the loom so that the open end of the pegs faces toward you, like so.

Reach under the first cap band with your hook, and pull the starburst color up through the cap band, and over to the middle peg.

We are going to go counter clockwise, since we flipped our loom. So, go the middle peg, and reach under the cap band with your hook, and grab the very first band, and pull it up through the cap band. Take it over to the first peg on the right.

Continue counter clockwise until you get to the next starburst.

Finishing the Looping of the Starbursts

When you get to your next starburst, take the bottom middle band, and pull it up through the two black bands, then on to the middle peg.

Continue our counter clockwise pattern until you get to the top of the loom.

Your Loom should look like the last picture.

We are now done looping the starbursts.

Go back down to the end, where you first started looping your starbursts.

Reach underneath the cap band of the middle peg, and grab the first of your border colored bands, and hook it onto the first peg on the left.

Now, reach underneath the two starburst bands, and your first border band, and grab the bottom white band. Pull it up through the border and starburst Bands, and over to the 3rd peg on the left, directly in front of it.

Continue doing this until you have looped the Border all the way up to the top middle peg.

You are done with the first half of looping the Border.

Looping the Border Part Two

Go back down to the first middle peg. We will be reversing the steps we just did.

Reach underneath the cap band of the first middle peg, and pull the white Border band through, and over to the first peg on the right.

Reach underneath the black bands and the white border band to grab the last white band. Pull it through, and over to the peg in front of it.

Continue this pattern until you reach the top middle peg, and all of the Border has been looped.

Once you have done this, you are ready to take the bracelet off.

Removing the Bracelet

To take your bracelet off, first you need to go to the middle peg at the top. Put your hook through, underneath all the bands, and slid your hook out to the side.

Now, that one band comes into play. Attatch a band to your hook, then flip it over so it doesn't get caught in the bands, and pull it back through the bands, off of the peg.

Now, slide the band further onto your hook, and carefully begin to take your bracelet off, peg by peg.

Once you are done, set your hook with the bracelet attached aside, so we can begin making the extension.

Making and Attatching the Extension

For the extension, get some border color bands, and make a single loop bracelet that will fit around half your wrist. I recommend using a different colored band for the figure 8, so you can easily find where to attatch the clip later.

Since you don't have your hook, it is easiest to use your fingers to make this; or to use the loom as a measuring tool for your wrist, and placing the bracelet sideways, as I have done.

Once you are done, attatch a c-clip to the top of the extension, which you will then attatch to the top of the Bracelet.

After you have done this, use another c-clip to attatch the bottom of the extension to the bottom of the Bracelet.

Now you're done! Enjoy your starburst bracelet! If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know!
