Star Wars Vs Star Trek BattleFleet Game- TinkerCad

When you see this, you might be thinking this is just a regular game of Battleship. But it’s not. For a long time, there’s been an on going debate on whether Star Wars of Star Trek is better. So I wanted to somehow put it in a game. So I immediately thought of Battleship. But instead, I named it BattleFleet, because both shows have fleets of ships in space. I had made this a few years ago, in 2016, but never really knew if people would like it. I did share it, but then took it down to make adjustments, and never posted it. In 2016, I had made it on a different software, but recently transferred it to TinkerCad. Using the pegs, you can make ships of your own to add to your collection. It has two compartments on each board to hold all the ships and pegs. It also does have a convenient traveling case and hook to lock it all in place. The file can be viewed down below. The rules pretty much the exact same as Hasbro’s Battleship. This has been created by Hasbro, but mine is different from theirs. Hope you like it!!
Don’t know if it will load!?
Supplies
The supplies needed for this house is an electronic device (like a computer or iPad), the TinkerCad website or app, yourself, and that’s pretty much it!
(If you want to 3D print it, you will need a 3D printer!)
Well of course!

What Is BattleShip?

Battleship is the classic naval combat game that brings together competition, strategy, and excitement. In head-to-head battle, you search for the enemys fleet of ships and destroy them one by one. No ship is safe in this game of stealth and suspense. Try to protect your own fleet while you annihilate your opponents. Its a battle that you must win!
You sank my battleship!
Feel the authentic thrill of the battle when you wage war on the high seas in the game of Battleship. Take charge and command your own fleet to defeat the enemy. With convenient portable battle cases and realistic naval crafts, Battleship puts you right in the middle of the action. Its a full-out assault. Instructions
Players take turns firing shots (by calling out a grid coordinate) to attempt to hit the opponent's enemy ships.
On your turn, call out a letter and a number that identifies a row and column on your target grid. Your opponent checks that coordinate on their ocean grid and verbally responds "miss" if there is no ship there, or "hit" if you have correctly guessed a space that is occupied by a ship.
Mark each of your shots or attempts to fire on the enemy using your target grid (upper part of the board) by using white pegs to document your misses and red pegs to register your hits. As the game proceeds, the red pegs will gradually identify the size and location of your opponent's ships.
When it is your opponent's turn to fire shots at you, each time one of your ships receives a hit, put a red peg into the hole on the ship corresponding to the grid space. When one of your ships has every slot filled with red pegs, you must announce to your opponent when your ship is sunk. In classic play, the phrase is "You sunk my BattleFleet!"
The first player to sink all five of their opponent's ships wins the game.

The Battle Case

The Battle Case is the main part of the whole game. It has the case to carry around, a hook to hold it together, the holes on the grid, the grid itself, and a place to keep all the pegs and ships. First, start out making the case. It is nicer when the case is rounded, not squared. It will make it all smooth if you choose to sand it and then paint it. Make sure to make something to hold the hinge, which is basically a rod attached to a rectangular prism. In the hinge holder, make a cylindrical shaped hole and a rectangular prism shaped hole on the other side. On the top, make a grid using long, skinny, rectangular prisms. Also make sure it isn’t built into the case, but it should be projecting outward. After that, add holes that are 4 mm in diameter. Then, using letters and numbers from the TinkerCad section on the side, add the numbers and letters to the outside of the grid. Make sure to make it all one shape, so it’s easy to duplicate and move to the bottom side of the case. Also, add the indented places to keep the pegs and ships to the bottom of the case and one on the right side of the top case. Then, make the hook. Make sure one part is larger and one smaller. Then, add a hook holder the same size as the hole in the hook and attach to the case. Then, you are pretty much done. This will most likely take the most time to design and to create.
The Pegs

The pegs are 100% the easiest part of the design. Make a 7 mm by 7mm cylinder on bottom and 4 mm by 4mm cylinder on top. Then group them together. The 4mm cylinder goes in the hole. And the 7mm cylinder goes on the outside. See? It’s really simple!!! Make sure you have enough and in that you have half white and half red pegs.
The Star Wars Ships

This part is fairly customizable. I chose these ships because of their size and how many holes they could hold. Or how many hits they could take. I chose to make the Death Star, Star Destroyer, Tantive IV, Rebel Transport, and a Landspeeder. These are all well known ships in the Star Wars Universe. I first started off with a peg, like the red and white ones, and then made the ships. Then I combined them all together. If you are making one yourself, make sure the pegs are aligned and that they fit in the holes properly. Otherwise, they won’t fit if you ever chose to print this. Also, make sure that you have one 5 hole ship, one 4 holed, two 3 holed ship, and one 2 holed ship. This will take some time because of the ships and their details.
The Star Trek Ships

This part is fairly customizable. I chose these ships because of their size and how many holes they could hold. Or how many hits they could take. I chose to make the Borg, Enterprise,Romulus Warbird,Voyager, and a TOS Shuttle. This will take some time because of the ships, their details, and maybe researching some ships from Star Trek.
Putting It All Together

After you make everything, it’s time to print it and put it together. First start out putting both parts of the case together and then put the hinge through the hole in the bottom of the case. Then, attach the hook to the top part of the case. After that, put all the ships and pegs into the divots in the case. Then, you are ready to play! Just look over the rules in the 2nd step or if you know the rules to Hasbro’s Battleship, you will be able to play. I haven’t ever printed this, so I don’t know how long it will take to print this. But I know it’ll take some time to print the case.
Your Finished!

Now, you are finished! You have now completed the process of building the game, printing it, and completing the assembly. Thanks for taking your time viewing this Instructable. This took some time to design and I hope you enjoyed it. You can either print it, or it may inspire you to make something else. Thanks!! Hope you enjoyed.
