Stable Holder for a Digital Microscope With 4! Focus Levels
Yesterday I played with my DIGITAL MICROSCOPE
again and was annoyed again because I didn't get
good results. Today I woke up with a solution.
I present : "Peter's Microscope QUICK HACK !"
(NO downloads or construction files needed !)
Supplies
You need :
a. a suitable square piece of wood
b. an old CD drive (or dad's new expensive stereo system)
c. a few screws
d. a small string cutter
e. suitable screwdriver(s)
f. hot hot glue
g. a small piece of thin cardboard
h. Glue or double-sided tape
i. a protractor if you want the thing straight, but you can
also do without it, the main thing is that the front of the
microscope is coherent and flush on the sample table
j. a digital microscope with a snap on holder / stand
k. a computer with appropriate camera software
l. a little skill and about 1/2 to 1 hour time
Step by Step
1. Take a piece of rectangular wood
2. Remove the camera mount from its previous stand
3. Disassemble a defective CD drive and remove the
laser transport carriage, remove all circuit boards and
the spindle motor, remove the laser lens and its cover
with a small string cutter. Leave the position motor on,
it acts like a dynamic brake !
4. Screw and/or glue the slide to the wood, attach (if you wish)
a piece of thin cardboard under the camera opening,
mark the center point.
5. Fix the camera in the holder, move it carefully into the right position,
press the camera onto the wood so that there is a right angle to the
slide, fix this with small fixation points during the first gluing process
6. fix everything with hot glue.
If you don't want to wait, just put the tripod in the fridge without the camera.
7. Hold your fingers under cold water when you get hot glue on it,
scream and curse, this frees and increases your life energy (Od)
8. wash, rinse, repeat.
9. Connect the camera to the computer, start the associated app, DONE !
Some Expressions
I've attached a few more pictures for you, you can see :
Bedclothes, T-shirt, mattress pad, each cotton, my beard,
piercing hole on my nose, surface of the computer case,
and the small hole from the first picture 1 chapter above.
