Stabilizing Your Everyday Blending
Being part of a Mexican family means that you always need to have some type of homemade salsa. All the salsas and most of the foods she makes require using the blender. Throughout all the years of cooking the blender has started losing the grip it has on the bottom and has caused it to start sliding off the counter. Because of this my mom now has to stay and hold the blender in place which limits the amount of things she can do while the ingredients are blending... so, I came up with a design that can stabilize the blender even if it has lost the grip it has on the bottom.
Supplies
1: You will need access to an MK3S 3D printer
2: Get some filament for your 3d printer
3: You will need a device where you can save all the progress you make on your project
4: Sign up or Log in to the website https://www.tinkercad.com/login
5: Download the app prusa slicer and create an account
6: Suction Cups
Creating the Base
To create the design you will first need to find the measurements of the base of the blender that you have. You can get more accurate measurements online. After you get the measurements go onto tinkercad. Begin by putting a solid "Box" figure. For the Ninja BL610 Professional 72 Oz Countertop Blender the dimensions were 9.5 in L x 7.5 in W, so I made it just a bit bigger so it could fit comfortably. Make sure that the base is thick enough to sustain the strength of your blender.
Creating the Whole for the Blender to Go Through
After my base measurements had been inputted, it was time to put in the hole for the blender. First you have to choose the grey square that is given under "Basic Shapes". After you have selected it, stretch it out so it's big enough for the blender, but also make sure that you leave a little bit of the base on the sides. After you like the size, make sure the hole is tall enough so it goes through the top and the bottom. After the hole is perfect, highlight your object and press the option next to the lightbulb, so the whole can become visible.
Entering the Holes on the Bottom for Suction Cups
The filament that the product is made of isn't grippy enough to hold the blender in place so..... you will need to have suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place. To make these holes choose the grey cylinder and adjust them so that they fit the corners of your product. MAKE SURE THE HOLES ARE EVEN. To ensure that they are even, you can copy and paste your holes so that all 4 are even. After you have adjusted them, highlight your product like last time, and click the button that is next to the lightbulb.
Printing Your Product
After you have finished your product save it as an STL file. After you have saved it, go to Prusa Slicer and import your STL. file. After you have imported, connect to your printer and upload your product and wait for it to print! After it printed, just add the suction cups, and you should be all good to go!!
