Sriracha, Sesame & Garlic Popcorn
Hot popped popcorn tossed in an even hotter Sriracha sauce and punctuated with sesame seeds. A tasty snack with a punch!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Sriracha Sauce
1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds - more for garnish
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
4 cups Popped Popcorn
Salt to Taste
Optional:
*1/2 Teaspoon Ginger
Ingredients:
1 1/2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Sriracha Sauce
1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds - more for garnish
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
4 cups Popped Popcorn
Salt to Taste
Optional:
*1/2 Teaspoon Ginger
Pop the Popcorn
Pop the popcorn however you'd like. I use a 70's style hot air popper, but plain, unsalted microwave popcorn or stoved popped corn will do the trick just as well!
Melt and Combine
Melt the butter, olive oil in a small sauce pan. While it's melting add the Sriracha sauce. As soon as they are combined, stir in the sesame seeds, garlic powder and if you like, the ground ginger*. Mix well.
*I normally like ginger with these flavors however, to me, it overpowered the taste, but give it a try and see what you think!

Toss and Enjoy
Pour over the mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat well. Season with salt and extra sesame seeds, to taste.
Enjoy...but keep a refreshing drink on hand!
Quick Tip - Dairy or sugar cuts the effect of spicy foods. While you wouldn't want sour cream on your popcorn you could have a glass of milk or slice of cheese handy if things get too hot!
