A while back I was thinking about what would be cool to make and I thought of a tennis ball launcher so I spent the next few days designing it on fusion 360.

Supplies

  • Plenty of PLA filament
  • Tpu filament (for the sling)
  • 1/4 eye bolts with nuts and washers
  • nylon rope
  • glue
  • A lighter to melt the ends of the nylon
  • Zip ties
  • 22mm 7mm skate bearings with an 8mm shaft diameter
  • extension springs

After designing it on fusion 360 I used just over 1KG of pla printing the body at 50% infill and the wheels at 30%

After everything was 3D printed I glued it together with a two part epoxy (I recommend using a colorless epoxy). Then I put the handle on the sling, held the sling in place with zip ties and tied the ropes and also placed the skate bearings in the wheels and secured them in place with the pins.
