Spot Color Separation in the Gimp
Okay, so you've decided you wanted to take up screen printing, or something similar. You need a program perhaps something like Photoshop, but you do not have the money. You find The Gimp and find out that the whole thing is confusing and you don't know how to start! Well here is a simple Instructable to help you on your way to creating amazing art, and intense designs!
Keep in mind that this instructable is for the beginner who doesn't know what to do after opening GIMP.

The GIMP - $0
A computer - $600
A mouse - $10
An arm with a hand attached to it - Priceless

The Separation
Okay Click on the select by color tool.
Now click on the first color you wish to separate.
Copy this selection (ctrl + C)
click paste (or ctrl + V)
in your layers you should see a "floating layer" right click it, and click New Layer
Viola! Your color is separated! Just repeat the process for all of your colors, and you should be able to separate colors like a master in no time.
