Spoon-Stick
I made a attachment for chopsticks that acts like a spoon to get the remaining broth. I made it because I don't want to dirty up a spoon to get the broth at the bottom of the bowl. I also don't want broth to dribble down my shirt.
Supplies
- Chopsticks
- Any 3-D printer
- Your favorite spoon as a model for measuring.
- An accurate measuring device to calculate the outer diameter of your chopsticks. (I used digital calipers.)
Defining the Problem
Our problem is that, I love eating ramen noodles and the broth at the bottom of the bowl, but I don't like tipping the bowl up because I am a very messy eater, I also don't want to dirty up a clean spoon for it.
I used digital calipers to measure my favorite spoon and chopsticks.
Designing the Spoon-Stick
The next step to creating this is to use Autodesk software to make a 3D model of what you want your Spoon-Stick to look like using the measurements from your original utensils. I chose Tinkercad. In my first design it was to thin. So in my second design I thickened it up, and while I did that I thought, I should add a keychain loop for traveling.

Printing the Spoon-stick
Next we have to print the Spoon-Stick so, I exported my design from Tinkercad into PrusaSlicer but you can use your favorite slicer. Then you print it as you would any other 3D print.
Using the Spoon-Stick
Now that you have one printed you can make ramen noodles and not have to tilt your bowl or dirty up a spoon. You just put the chopstick in the hole in the bottom your Spoon-Stick and your chopstick becomes the handle for your newly printed spoon.
