Make the Spiced Syrup to Flavor the Punch

- ⅓ cup Water
- 1/3 cup White Sugar
- 2 whole Cinnamon Sticks
- 3 pieces Fresh Ginger - sliced
- 5 whole Cloves
- 3 pieces Orange Peel - cut peel pieces only
To make the spiced syrup, add the cinnamon sticks, orange peel, sliced ginger, and cloves to a small sauce pan and cover with the sugar and water.
Set the saucepan over a flame and stir the contents until the sugar is melted into the water.
Bring the mixture to a light simmer and cover. Continue to cook the spiced syrup (covered to prevent evaporation) on a light simmer for another 5 minutes.
When 5 minutes of simmer time is up, turn the heat off and let the syrup steep an additional 5 minutes covered.
When steep time is up, remove cover, strain into a jar with a screw top lid, and let cool to use in the Spooky Spider Brew!
Additional Notes:
This spiced syrup can be made well in advance and refrigerated to be used within 2 weeks.
You can also use this same autumn spiced syrup to flavor a spiced apple moscow mule fall cocktail.
If you need extra, the recipe can be easily doubled to make more.
Once the spiced syrup is cooled, you can use it to make the fun Spider Brew Halloween Punch.
