Spooky Light Up Eyes
I wanted to have Spooky Eyes deep in the woods around my home for halloween.
They needed to be easy to hang up. I did not want to run extension cords to the locations.
I could not find the lights that I liked, so I made my own.
Construction time: 20 minutes after gathering needed supplies.
Cost: About $3.00.
The tea lights total hours of light ...240hrs.
This is so cheap and fun...do this with your kids!
Supplies
For this project you will need...
Glue gun and glue sticks.
Scissors.
1" glass stones. (the bigger, the better)
LED tea lights x2.
Bendable wire or long paperclip.
Small piece of black paper. (white paper colored with permanent marker will work)
Clear plastic from a sandwich bag and/or some type of clear plastic packaging.
Black spray paint. (optional)
Remove LED Covering
Remove the plastic LED covering on the tea lights.
Draw your pupil shape on black paper. I choose the dragon eye for this one.
Color your clear plastic, any clear plastic will do. Packaging form different products will work.
Cut out the pupil and the clear plastic to fit your glass stone.
Glue the pupil on first then glue the colored plastic over the pupil.
Prepare the Tea Lights
Put on one layer of glue and place the wire across the tea light. Build up several layers to clear the LED bulb. Place the glass stone in place. Seal up the edges around the stone to prevent water from getting in.
Glue a piece of plastic bag plastic to the back to further water proof the tea light.
Adding black spray paint the the tea lights allows them to blend in at night. I would paint them first.
