Spooky Ghost Swing | Laser Cut, Halloween, Desk Decor

Halloween Cover.png

Hello, fellow instructables makers, meet my latest creation—a mini swing ornament with a ghostly figure on an autumn seat, framed by twisted branches. Laser-cut from plywood and painted in black, orange, and white, it's a quick, beginner-friendly project for desk or window decor. Let's craft this haunted charmer!

Supplies

Materials

  1. 3mm thick plywood sheet (about 20x20cm—balsa or birch works great for clean cuts)
  2. Acrylic paints: Black (for the frame and branches), Orange (for the swing seat and autumn leaves), White (for the ghost figure)
  3. Wood glue (quick-dry formula)
  4. Small paintbrushes (one fine-tip for details)

Equipment

  1. NEJE 20w Laser Cutter
  2. Design software (LightBurn or similar for prepping files)
  3. Drop cloth or palette for painting

Head over to my shared file. Open it in your design software like LightBurn. Scale to fit your cutter's bed (aim for 30x30cm total). Add any personal flair if you want.

Lay your pieces on a drop cloth and give 'em a light sanding along the edges—smooth those laser kerfs for a silky touch.

  1. Black: Branch frame and swing.
  2. Orange: pumpking
  3. White: Ghost

Assembly
