Spooky Crocheted Spider Web Garland
Summon the perfect Halloween garland to haunt your home this season! Crafted from as many eerie webs as you dare, this garland is a chillingly fun project to create. With little to no sewing required, this project is eerily simple to work on, just pure Halloween magic! Decorate with delight... if you dare.
Supplies
Black acrylic yarn, Size H crochet hook, scissors, and a sewing needle
Gather Your Materials
All you need is a ball of yarn (any weight will work—I used size 4), a matching crochet hook, scissors to finish off the project, and a needle for weaving in any loose ends, if desired. You can also use a stitch marker if needed (I've included one in the tutorial below).
Begin the Web
Chain 12, then join the ends to form a slip stitch, creating a loop that makes it easy to hang the web wherever you'd like to decorate. Next, chain 15, place a stitch marker, and then chain an additional 30.
First Row - Web Formation
Triple Crochet (wrap yarn around hook twice) in the 6th chain from the hook, Chain 1, "Tr in the same chain, CH1" 3 more times. Skip 3 stitches in the foundation chain and join with a slip stitch in the fourth chain from the hook. Slip stich in the next 4 chains (5 slip stitches total). You should have 5 chain 1 spaces now - see photo.
Second Row of Web
Chain 3, and turn your work. Skip next Chain 1 space, and triple crochet in the top of the triple crochet below, Chain 3. (see photo). Repeat 4 times. Skip next "chain 1 space" of foundation row, and triple crochet once more in the next stitch. Now you have 5 chain 3 spaces.
Third Row of Web
Chain 9 (considered a triple crochet, and chain 5), turn your work. "Skip Chain 3 space, and triple crochet in next triple crochet, Chain 5". Repeat "" 4 more times. Skip 3 chains in starting foundation row and slip stitch in 4th chain. Slip stitch in next 4 chains (5 total).
Fourth Row of Web
Chain 7, turn your work. "Skip chain 5, and triple crochet in next triple crochet, chain 7" Repeat "" 4 times. At end of row, skip 5 chains and triple crochet in next chain of the chain 9 from the previous row.
Fifth Row of Web
Chain 13, turn your work. "Skip chain 7, and triple crochet in next triple crochet, chain 9" Repeat "" 4 times. Skip 3 chains in starting foundation row and slip stitch in 4th chain. Slip stitch in next 4 chains (5 total).
Chain 11, turn your work. "Skip chain 9, and triple crochet in next triple crochet, picot stitch (optional), chain 11" Repeat "" 4 times. At end of row, skip 9 chains and triple crochet in next chain of the chain 13 from the previous row.
Restart From the Beginning to Add Webs!
You can either chain 15, and then another 12 chains to form another loop and end it here, or repeat from Chain 30 in Step two and do as many webs as you would like!
