Sponge Stamped Christmas Tree Card
I wanted to try stamping a fun little card for Christmas. This is pretty simple and while an adult may need to cut the sponge, this is a great stamping project for kids!
Supplies
Time to get started!
Supplies:
Supplies:
- Blank Greeting Card (and envelope)
- Melamine Foam Sponge (I got mine at Daiso, it's a dense sponge, The Magic Eraser is made of it)
- Green Ink Pad
- Red Ink Pad
- Yellow Ink Pad
- Pencil
- Optional: Brown and Black Marker
- Exacto Knife or Scissors to cut the sponge
Tree
This is pretty basic. Take your sponge, get ink on it and stamp it on the card. When you push your sponge into the ink pad, try to cover all of the edge, the same for when you stamp it on the card. If you just push from the middle, you are only going to get the center of the triangle.
Overlap the bottom of one triangle with the top of another. Stamp as many times as you want it tall. I just went with four.

Decorate the Tree
Time to decorate your tree! I just did red ornaments, but you can do whatever colors you would like. Just stamp the eraser of your pencil in the ink and stamp it on your card. Make sure you clean the eraser before switching colors and when you are done. Don't want to get ink all over.
I added a yellow dot to the top of the tree to represent the star. If you are talented, you can cut a start out of the foam.

Extras
Add anything else to the card that you need! I drew in a simple stump for my tree, so it wasn't just hovering. Then I just drew some lines around the edge with points. These are my strings of lights! I just stamped yellow or red at each point along the edge.
For an extra little something, something, use a smaller triangle and put a Christmas tree on the flap of the envelope. Now you have a matching envelope and card set! Now just fill in the card with your own message :)
