These simple ingredients create an easy yet oh so satisfying part to any meal and its rich aroma invite family and friends to feast. I introduce to you - spiral butter rolls!  These rolls playfully peel apart and gives you more surface area to spread even more butter (optional, but highly recommended!).

Ingredients

You will need the following:

4 cups bread flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

2 eggs
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup butter, softened

Extra salted butter for spreading (optional)

Mix Ingredients and Knead!

First mix together all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, yeast) in a medium bowl. Then mix together the milk and eggs in a large bowl. Cut 4 tbsp of butter into small pieces and place into the milk/egg mixture. You will now, a section at a time, mix together the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and start kneading. You will know when your dough is kneaded properly when it looks smooth and supple. Let your dough rest in a separate greased bowl for about an hour until it has doubled its size and cover so it does not dry out.

Butter Your Muffin Pan

Microwave the remaining 2 tbsp of butter on medium power for about 15 seconds until it melts. Use some of this to butter your muffin pan so the rolls comes out easily. Note: This recipe makes 12 rolls.

When the dough has doubled in size, roll out the dough into a uniform shape with a thickness of about 3/4". You will now divide the dough into 24 equal wedges and then butter the tops with the remaining butter.

Now - the spirals! Place one wedge on top of another. This will be for one roll. Roll up the two wedge, narrowest side first, to form the spiral. Then cup your hands and massage the spirals to a ball like form and place into the muffin pan.

Proof Again

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with extra salted butter on the side. Revel to your satisfaction as the butter melts into the layers of the bun. Hope you enjoy these spiral butter buns as much as I have!!
