Spinning Wind-up Allay Toy

if you're a big fan of minecraft and if you watched minecraft live 2021, you're probably familiar with this dancing, flying, cookie-loving angel comming up 2022 in the wild update(1.19 update). this is the allay. a cute, flying wild mob that likes cookies, music, and collecting stuff for it's friend. you can tame it with cookies, and if you give it a block, it'll fly around and bring more same or simular blocks to you. the sounds of a note block can even make it do a little happy dance! when i saw this, i definitely knew a TON of merch was comming next. but why buy it later when you can build it now? so i'm going to try build a spin-dancing wind-up allay toy.

(plus i CAN'T wait 'till 2022)

you will need:

a thick sheet of paper

drawing tools

colored pencils

ruller

scissors

toy wind-up motor(small)

thick tape

glue

your friendly ceiling

time to draw! get yourself a thick sheet of paper and draw out the outlines of an allay. make sure you draw it extra detailed, and try to draw the lines as lightly as possible.

now let's detail it up on the inside. i was eventually too lazy so i only draw out the eyes. anyway, give it some major details like the long eyes, then color the whole thing in light blue(except the eyes). when you're finished, let's redraw the link lines of each body parts and the eyes with pens. the outer line dosen't need penning, since it's going to be snipped off.

time for the blue body! color the whole body blue. you technically CAN color beyond the outline, since we're going to cut that part out at the next step. just keep the blue out of it's eyes and you're all done.

scissor the body out carefully. when you're finished cutting it out, fold the links as shown in the picture.

(we're almost done, so don't give up!)

time for the spin power source. take out a small wind-up motor and glue it on the top of the head(behind). after that, wrap the axle(the pole that spins)with some thick tape to make a handle.

it's done! grab the handle and wind it up, and let go to see your tiny angel to spin around! this project was super easy to build, and i'm pretty happy how the result came out. so there you have it: the world's first spinning wind-up allay toy!
