Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are delicious but spicy. Here's a tip: If you don't like a lot of spice (or any at all!) don't use as much cayenne pepper. Or, you don't even have to use any at all!

Get Your Ingredients

You will need:
Butter
Sugar
Salt
Baking soda
Eggs
Vanilla extract
Cocoa powder
Cayenne pepper

Cream Together 2 and 1/2 Sticks of Butter and 2 Cups of Sugar With a Hand Mixer or Whisk

Beat until smooth and creamy.

Add the 2 Eggs and 1 Tablespoon of Vanilla.

Add eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla. Beat until combined, then set bowl aside.

Get a Smaller Bowl and Start Adding the Dry Ingredients.

Add 3/4 of a cup of cocoa powder, 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 a teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the small bowl.

Gradually Add Dry Ingredients to Wet Ingredients.

Add about a 1/2 of the dry ingredients at a time.

Set Up a Cookie Sheet Tray and Put Parchment Paper Across It.

Roll the dough into 2 logs, each that are about 2 inches high and I foot across.
Wrap the logs in parchment paper, then stick them in the freezer for 1-2 hours.

After the Freezer

After 1-2 hours, take the cookie dough logs out of he freezer and let them thaw for as long as needed.

After the Thaw

After the logs are done thawing, cut them into about 1 inch thick rounds.

Put Them on the Tray

Preheat the Oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Bake for 10 Minutes.
