For this recipe you'll need 1/2 a cup of popcorn kernels, I used yellow popping corn. Then you'll need 3 tbsp of butter. Then you'll need 1 Tbsp of lime juice, I used bottled lime juice but you can use freshly squeezed lime juice. You'll need 1/2 a tsp of chili powder, and 1/8th a tsp of ground cayenne pepper. You'll also need 1 tsp of salt. The tools you'll need for this recipe are measuring spoons, I used a 1/2 cup, 1 Tbsp, 1 tsp, 1/2 tsp, and 1/8 tsp. A large bowl to put the popcorn in and a small bowl to mix the seasoning in. I also used a small spoon to mix the seasonings together. The final thing you'll need is a popcorn maker, I used a Stir Crazy corn popper.

Make the Popcorn Seasoning

Combine the cayenne pepper, chili powder, and salt in a small bowl. Make sure you mix them really well. Set the seasoning to the side we will use this once the popcorn is made. If you want the popcorn to be extra spicy you can add more cayenne pepper. Be careful if you do add more cayenne pepper because a little goes a long way.

Get your popcorn maker and plug it in. Then add the butter and the lime juice to the popcorn maker. Let the butter melt most of the way. Then add the popcorn kernels to the popcorn maker and put the lid onto the popcorn maker. Then let the popcorn pop for about 3 minutes, then turn the popcorn maker off so you don't burn the popcorn. Note if you don't have a popcorn maker you can used microwave popcorn, or your preferred method for making popcorn.

Season the Popcorn

Put the popcorn into a large bowl, then pour your seasoning from step one onto the popcorn. I didn't end up putting all of my seasoning onto the popcorn, but if you want it to be extra spicy put all of the seasoning on it. After that toss the popcorn to mix the seasoning into all the popcorn, do this quickly after putting the seasoning on it or the seasoning will stick to just the top pieces of popcorn. Once you have combined the popcorn and seasoning, it's ready to eat. Enjoy!
