Want a little more speed out of Win7? As a first start you should always clean up your system first. Most slow down comes from junk files and full registries. But, if you have already been down that path, here's a quick little registry edit to give you that little speed boost you are looking for and make Windows open like greased lightning.

1. Go to your start menu and type "Regedit" and open the application.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop
3. Locate the registry entry titled "MenuShowDelay"
4. Change the default value from 400 to 200.

This simple edit will change the amount of mSeconds that windows uses to load a window. You should notice a significant increase in speed when Win7 loads a window now. After a few days of Win7 running like this, you will have a hard time going back to the default settings. Also to increase speed try disabling Aero Glass.
