Spray Paint

Spray outside of mason jars and lids with desired base color and make sure you have a good even coat with full coverage. You may choose to add painters tape around the rim and inside lid. Let paint dry before beginning next step.

Add Speckles

Pour out some white paint into a container and grab your toothpick. This is the fun (or tedious) part where you make the jar "speckled". I used both the pointy and stubby ends of the toothpick and tried to randomize large and small dots all over the jar. Here are some tips I learned through the process: err on the side of two few “speckles” as you work your way around the jar because you can always add more, round spots are good but incorporate oblong spots as well, and embrace mistakes if your hand slips while doing a small spot then it's easy to turn into a large spot with a few adjustments.

Add Clear Topcoat

Once the “speckles” or spots have dried spray with a clear coat. I used a Triple Thick Glaze spray because I wanted to try and get the jars as glossy possible, mimicking that enamelware shine.
