Sparkling Night Light
https://www.instructables.com/Glass-Jar-Firefly-Be...
This is a simple Arduino project that uses PWM signals to makes LED flickering, the way the LED is flickering it's just like the firefly's body. This project was originated by ardystal gysr ( the link above), based on his ideas, I changed some of the parts. I used different colors of LED light (red, yellow, green, and blue), to make it more colorful. Also, I changed parts of the code, I made its "breathe" effects faster than before, it takes about 3 seconds when the light glows up and goes off. This is an easy way to design a night light at home, let's get started!
Supplies
- 4 Wires
- 1 9v battery
- 1 Mini Breadboard
- 1 Arduino Micro Pro
- 4 LED light (red, blue, green, yellow)
- 3 Resistor 220 Ohm
- 1 9v battery clip
- 1 Matte glass jar
- 1 Data transfer cable
Connect the Circuits
Use the pictures above, follow how to connect the circuits.

Add Battery On
As your code has been sent to the Arduino Micro Pro, you can add battery on for powered, so it can able to work. Remember, connecting the ground to GND, and the positive terminal to Vin.
Stick the Device on the Lid
Use the foam tape to fixed the device properly on the lid, make sure it won't fall down! You may close the lid to test is the tape strong enough to hold the device.
You're Done!
The reason why I choose the matte glass jar is that your eye won't feel too shiny when you look at it. By using the matte material, it will have a softer light, and it looks better in the dark.
