Spanish Ring Knot Variation

Bruce Grant in :"How to Make Cowboy Horse Gear" presents the Spanish Ring Knot using a 5 bight, 3 lead TH as the base. In this variation I use the 4 bight 3 lead TH as the base.
I used gutted paracord (remove inside strands) so that the cord lies flat.
A dowel is needed
(fingers can be used once you are familiar with the process).
The clear glass marble (blue background shows through) will be used as luggage ID.
The other will be attached to a ceiling fan/light to eliminate a long stretch.
For the third example I tied the ring knot around a dime (small coin) and will use it as a lanyard.

Bring Working End (WE) around the dowel as shown.

Bring WE around the dowel.

Bring WE under one and over one strand.

Tug on the bight as shown and bring it over to the left.

Bring WE under one and over one strand.
This completes the 5B, 3L TH knot.

Bring WE under one and over one strand. Pull through.

Bring WE under two and over one - pull through.

Bring WE under two and over one. Pull through.

Bring WE under two and over two strands. Pull through.

Bring WE under two and over two and pull through.

Bring WE under two and over two and pull through.

Bring WE under two.
The knot is complete. .Tighten and trim ends.
