Space-Saving PVC Collapsible Towel Stand

Ever wished for a towel rack that’s lightweight, easy to move, and doesn’t take up much space when not in use? In this project, we’ll be making a PVC Collapsible Towel Rack—a simple yet practical solution that you can fold and store away whenever needed. Using basic materials like PVC pipes, elbow fittings, and a few simple tools, we’ll build a sturdy frame that opens up to hold multiple towels and collapses flat when not in use. Step by step, you’ll see how each part comes together to form a handy rack that’s both functional and space-saving.
Supplies
- .5 inch to 1 inch PVC pipe
- 4 L-joints
- 1 T- joint
- 2 PVC Wall Clamps for mounting
- 2 PVC C-Clamp for holding
- 1 X 1' end-cap
- Marker & measuring tape or ruler
- Pipe cutter

- Arrange 1 inch PVC pipe on your work surface.
- Measure 3 X 2' pipes, 1 X 1'10" pipe and 2 X 10" pipes.
- Cut all the pipes neatly with a PVC cutter or hacksaw, keeping the cuts straight.
- Mark the drilling points at 3" apart on 1'10" & 10" pipes for the ropes.
- Drill holes at the marked points carefully.
- Set aside the prepared pipes for the next step of assembly.

- Insert pipe in elbow, mark the insertion point for uniform joints.
- Lightly sand pipe ends for a smooth fit.
- Push pipe into elbow till the mark;
- Connect the T-joint with 2 small pipes on each side of the 'T'.
- Connect a 2 feet PVC on the T-joint, this will act as stand. Insert an end-cap to its end.
- Complete the square frame with 4 L-joints on 4 corners.
- Wrap the rope through the pipe-holes and tie.
- Check that the rope wrap does not extend into the elbow socket.
- This make the towel rack ready and steady.
