The Space Challenge
As Space Exploration becomes a larger aspect of our future, we being to beg the question, of the blueprint of an operational forklift in a space environment.
Design Brainstorming
There will be notable differences between a forklift on Earth and a forklift on the moon. Establishing what makes an Earth forklift so capable and see how that can translate into a space design. We being to understand what we need on the forklift design.
Drawings and Evaluations
We focused on narrowing our design to match certain criteria, our most emphasized one being visibility. This is met with the use of LED lights and glass doors and windows. Another example is size. Our design aimed for an average size, rather than a huge tough-terrain combatting forklift. Another specific criteria was standard 4 leaver controls. The idea behind it comes from operator's preference.
Sketch to CAD
Above is a presentation aimed to illustrate our process from the idea, to sketch, to CAD model.
Final Concept
Our final concept produced with Solidworks and Fusion 360.
