Sourdough Donuts!!
Hello! Here's a recipe on how to make Sourdough Donuts! It's a great recipe if you have any extra Sourdough Discard.
Supplies
For this recipe you will need:
1/4 cup Oil (I used Avocado Oil)
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Active Sourdough Discard
1 cup Whole Milk
1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
In a bowl add:
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Oil (I used Avocado Oil)
And mix together
Add:
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Mix well
Add:
1/2 cup Active Sourdough Starter
And mix
Add:
1 cup whole milk
And mix again
Add:
1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Gently mix together. Be sure not to overmix. It is okay if there are a few lumps left.
Get your donut pan and grease with oil.
(I didn't have a Donut pan so I used a Muffin Pan and later made the shape of a donut)
Add your Batter to the pan. Bake at 375°F for around 15 minutes until your donuts turn golden brown.
Feel free to add a glaze and/or toppings! I made a chocolate glaze for mine by melting chocolate chips and butter together.
Voila! Your delicious Sourdough Donuts are ready!
