Have you ever found yourself cupping your hand around the side of the iPad to get a little more volume out of that single speaker? Let SoundScoop do all the work for you! This is a very simple project that can be completed in under 10 minutes and uses one sheet of craft foam that can be found at most hobby stores for $0.99.

Materials & Tools

  • Sheet of craft foam (as you can see by the picture it's sold by different names).
  • Hot glue gun
  • x-acto knife (preferred) or scissors
  • pencil or pen

Download the Pattern

Cut Out the Pattern

Cut out the pattern with your choice of tool. I prefer to use an x-acto knife.

Transfer Pattern to Craft Foam

Using a pencil or pen trace the outline of the pattern onto the craft foam. I used lime green so it would be easy for you to see.

Cut Out the Craft Foam

Again using your preffered method cut out the scoop from the craft foam. Don't forget the slot.

Overlap the Edges of the Slot Then Glue

Get a feeling for how the edge overlaps. Put a shot of hot glue in the approximate area of where the spot is on the photo. Press together.

You're Done!
