Sound Effects Board With Makey Makey
This board was created to add sounds to my robots. By using a graphite pencil a poster board along with a Makey Makey you can create an interactive surface with 16 touch points.
Supplies
Makey Makey Classic, Poster Board, Paper, Graphite Pencil, Glue, Green Paint, 16 Alligator cables, 6 Jumper Wires, Un-Insulated Wire, Small Brass Picture Hangers, Ruler
Setup and Design the Board Layout
- Create a pattern on the poster board that you have selected to use for your project.
- Using your graphite pencil draw heavy dark lines that extend to the end of your board. In this step, it is important that the lines do not touch each other.
- Using a flat surface and a ruler helps create straight solid lines.
Connect Makey Makey to the Board
- Connect your alligator clips to the lines on your board and back to the Makey Makey.
- Connect Jumper wires to the alligator cables for a easy connection coming out of the black standoff's that are on the back of the Makey Makey
Scratch
- Setup your sounds to each one of you lines connected to the Makey Makey
- Remap you Makey Makey to modify the key and mouse settings on the board.

Be Creative
- I used a doodle bot and a soup mixer to activate the sounds on my board.
- When you have what you want to use for your prop just make sure that the bottom of the surface has a conductive material and all points touching the board are connect together.
- Connect a alagator wire from earth to your prop to complete the circuit when it touches the line on the board.
- Enjoy
