Soldering SMD (Surface Mounted Devices) - Using BriteBits
There are many ways to hand solder SMD parts. We made a video of three common ways to hand solder these small parts, gluing, tacking down one corner, and using solder paste. We are using lead-free solder for our demonstration.
We included one method that doesn't work. This should show the difference between these methods and just throwing solder at the problem.
The boards we are soldering are called BriteBits. They are essentially a color matched miniature breakout board for adding LEDs to a breadboard project. They simplify the process, by including the resistor on the PCB.
