Solar Powered Xbox360 Controller

Here I will show you how to create a solar powered Xbox controller.

Materials Needed:

  1. At least one 5v solar panel (also works with 3v, but not as well)
  2. Wires 22 Aug recommended
  3. An Xbox Controller
  4. Solder
  5. Soldering Iron
  6. Screwdrivers

Opening the Controller

The Controller has seven screws. Six of them are clearly visible, but for the seventh you have to remove the battery pack and it's hidden behind the barcode.

Attaching the Wire to the Controller

Once you have opened the controller attach one wire to the negative and another wire to the positive. Of Course if you want to attach multiple solar panels then you will need more wires.

Attach the Wires to the Solar Panel(s)

Finally attach the negative wire to the negative and the positive wire to the positive on the solar panel(s).

Remove the Rumbles (Optional)

You can remove the rumbles if you want to by unplugging them from the circuit board and taking them out. It will make your controller so much lighter, but it won't rumble.
