Solar Powered Flashlight

'Free light when every you want'. Bold claim you may be thinking but with this solar powered flashlight, that's what you get.

Easy and inexpensive to make and will last it's lifetime.

Purchase a solar garden lamp and break it down for the solar panel and light. This was easy to do as it just unscrewed by hand.

Cut the base off a Beer or soda can. Trim with scissors to form a parabolic reflector.

Drill some holes for fitting over the LED light and switch. Use a small file to assist if necessary.

Cover the reflector with tin foil so it will reflect more light.

Glue the reflector to the solar lamp unit. Test to ensure the switch will turn the light on and off. You may need to cover the solar panel if testing during the day time.

Your solar garden lamp has now been transformed into a flash light.

To change the solar flash light, place it under a light source so the solar panel receives light. Placing it on a window still in the sun works well.

One of the uses for this flashlight is hanging it up in a tent or camping area during the evening. Thus providing illumination. This illumination can be enhanced by covering the light with a paper tissue, this saves your eyes from adjustment shock should you look directly at it.
