Soil aeration is the process of interchange of gasses between roots and the environment.

Roots also need breathing alike leaves. When roots breathe properly it leads to healthier and bushy roots which leads to healthier plants.

Most of the aerators available are marked towards garden and field.

Here is an easy process for root aeration for balcony, terrace or home plants.

Take a plant in a pot which you think is not up to the mark in health.

Use the sticks in the previous steps and poke straight and deep holes around the plant.

Do not count how many holes you have made

You will understand when it is enough.

Do It Again

Take another pot and do the holes again.

If you see soil coming out, just twist the stick a little and rotate the stick as you pull it out.

After the holes are done make sure you water the pots properly for the holes to submerge for the roots to fill up later.

Healthy plants, happy plants.
