Soaps immediately relate to fragrance. And yes! I did not realize that this project would add an undisclosed aspect of a great fragrance lingering in my home today.

In this project, I have carved a few colorful soaps with floral artwork and then add decorations to make it more attractive and appealing. Come along with me to learn more!

I bought some simple soaps with good fragrance and flat surface. I didn't want to choose Dove soap because of its curved surface. The softer the soap the easier it is to carve through. Brittle soaps do not make a good option.

As you can see from the pictures above, I marked a simple design using a knife as seen in the image 3. Then, carefully and gracefully I carved the edges of the petals. The soaps are generally soft and slippery and so it was necessary to manage it utmost care. Else the soap gets cut in quickly and out of shape. I also made sure to keep the peels off the groves. Two white flowers are finally carved on one soap. Pierced some holes as dots on the outer periphery of the floral designs.

The soap appeared bulky and too thick. So I decided to chop off the extra mass but cutting it into half.

I then picked the green soap. Cut a small 1 cm portion on one side. Then, decorated a green leaf and similarly made the second leaf. Refer image 1.

I picked red thread for these white flowers and carefully filled in the carved portion with the thread. Since soap is sticky already I didn't want to add any extra glue or such. I placed the red thread along the periphery and on the carved borders. Slowly both the flowers were filled in correctly with the red thread as in image 1.

Similarly I filled in the carved leaf borders with the green thread.

Finally I decided to place these on a glass base and on the entry way table. This is just the perfect way for a fragrant entry into my home.

Thanks for your time!!
