Snooker With the Gang

DSC04795.JPG
I acquired this Scooby-Doo and the Gang kit about five years ago. More recently, I was presented with this miniature pool table, which has virtually the same range scale of the characters (each one is approximately 4 inches tall). Instantly, I decided to create a moment of relax for those meddling kids. And I would gotten away with it if it weren't... Ops, wrong sentence, I definitely got away with it!

Materials

- 1 miniature pool table, complete with fifteen balls and two cues. The table has a plastic cover.

- Miniatures of Shaggy, Fred, Scooby-Doo, Velma, and Daphne - the whole gang!

- Multipurpose instant adhesive

- Good records to listen to while fixing it: Peter Gabriel (1977), Greeting from Asbury Park (Bruce Springsteen, 1973), Station to Station (David Bowie, 1975).

Step 1

I started with a MDF board, 30 cm long by 20 cm wide. I then involved the whole board with a black adhesive plastic film.

Step 3

I glued the pool table on the board, trying to center it.

Step 4

I fixed then all characters to the board and close to the table, looking for a proper setting. Fred and Daphne (obviously) had to be together, and Fred should be holding a pool cue. and Shaggy's "hump" seemed appropriate for someone who was preparing for a shot - disastrous, probably. Scooby-Doo and Velma completed the set.

Step 5

As the miniature table had a transparent plastic piece covering its top, fixing the balls and the remaining cue was fairly easy. I tried to create a random distribution of dots and bothered to make the taco was aligned with the position of the hand Shaggy - in this case, I fixed only the other end, so that it was possible some freedom of alignment.

Step 6 - All Done!

Those meddling kids deserve a break.
