Snake catching sticks are pretty expensive in the market so i thought why not make my own stick that too from scrap laying around !

So, here is the list of items you will need :

  1. an old stapler - 24/6 or 26/6 pin size staplers works best !
  2. around 42 inches of 1/2" pipe - light weight
  3. bicycle brake wire
  4. bicycle brake wire housing
  5. bicycle or scooter brake lever
  6. badminton handle grip - or anything that you can wrap around the handle for grip
  7. some small screws, nuts and bolts.
  8. foam for padding.

Tools you will need :

  1. hack saw
  2. wire cutter
  3. metal files
  4. hammer
  5. drill to make holes
  6. screw driver
  7. pliers

in this instructable the part of the stapler which contains the stapler pins or the cartridge part is called the lower part and the part which is kept at the bottom of the paper while we staple is called the upper part. as these are their positions on the snake catching stick.

So here we go ! >>>

Take the stapler and rip its outer plastic grip apart, or anything except the metal stapler itself.take out the mechanism that pushes the pins in the pin holder cartridge and keep it aside. use a pliers and hammer to shape the staplers as shown in the image. do not take apart the spring that opens the stapler when you press it to staple.
