Smartphone Tripod Adapter--DIY for Free

UPDATE: I upgraded to a G3 and also gutted the old camera from this i'ble. At least on my G3 with the gutted cam, I can control everything. Different cams will be different, but if it has an LCD you can remove (bonus, hold on to that component) then you can have full control too.

Sometimes we really are too hard on ourselves.

I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how I could make an easy and affordable tripod adapter for my iPod. While having a snack in the kitchen, inspiration struck.

Keep it simple, silly.

A tripod.

An old useless camera with a tripod mount on the bottom (most have them)

An Ipod/Iphone/Android, or similar

Two rubber-bands. They should be large enough to stretch comfortably around the assembly but not so large that they sag

1. Put old junk cam on your pocket monster of choice.

2. Attach with bands.

3. Mount assembly to tripod.

While this isn't a joke, this DIY/hack really works, it is pretty funny how we try too hard sometimes while a perfectly viable and simple solution is staring us in the face.

It works with other things too, by the way, like my PCs webcam. It's sort of universal in that way.
