Smart Light Hanging Bio-Luminaire.

This is a Smart Light Hanging Bio-Luminaire, it is made of waste materials (eggshells, cardboard and flour). The luminaire is made of biodegradable material which means its is environmental friendly. Instead of buying material to make the luminaire, waste material are used that is saving a lot of money. The purpose of the Luminaire is to bring a great experience and feeling to different individuals. To decorate different venues, make places more beautiful than when a light is just hanging on its own. The Hanging Bio-Luminaire will be used in Restaurants, Lodges, Living rooms and etc.

Materials

  1. Wheat Flour
  2. Water.
  3. Egg shells.
  4. Vaseline
  5. Eggs Cardboard.
  6. Poly urethane foam.
  7. Bend Saw.

Tools.

  1. Lathe machine.
  2. Vacuum forming machine.
  3. Bucket.
  4. Files.
  5. Scissor.
  6. Spoon.
  7. Craft Knife.
  8. Sand papers.

Making the Masterpiece

  • We gonna make the masterpiece first, cut a block of Poly urethane foam 250mm X 250 mm using a bend saw.
  • After cutting, put the block of poly urethane in the lathe machine and shape it using the blades.
  • Once you get your shape, use the files to add the interesting details and form.
  • Sand it nicely so that it has a smooth surface.

Making the Mould

  • Make the mould with a plastic (HIPS) using a vacuum forming machine.
  • After remove the masterpiece for the mould and trim it nicely.
  • Then your mould is ready.

Preparing the Cardboad

  • Tear the cardboard into smaller pieces in a bucket using your hands or scissor.
  • Pour water in the bucket with the pieces and soak the cardboard in the water for about 10 minutes.

Adding Flour and Eggshells

  • Crash the eggshells into small pieces and put them on the soaked cardboard.
  • Add 4 spoons of Wheat flours on the mixture in the bucket. (The flour holds all the material together and makes it strong),
  • Then stare to mix all the materials, make sure you mix carefully.

Applying Vaseline to the Mould

  • Before you put in the material you have mixed, make sure you first apply Vaseline to the mould so that it can be easy to remove the final product (does not get stacked).

Putting the Material in the Mould.

  • Pour your material in the mould.
  • Carefully spread the material around the mould so that it is thin and hollow. (The flour can be sticky on your hands, use Vaseline).

Drying and Removing the Prototype.

  • Place the mould and material in the sun for about 48 hours to dry.
  • Cut the mould half carefully to remove it from the prototype. It is not easy to take the mould off without cutting it, the prototype might break.
  • After removing the mould, your Luminaire is ready!
