Small Bunk Bed
Children enjoys sleeping on the bunk bed.
Why not to make small bunk bed? Almost 1/7th size of actual bunk bed.
This small bunk bed can be used for their dolls.
This instructable is giving step by step procedure to design & develop small bunk bed.
Supplies
Soft Wood Strips (preferably Pine Wood)
Nails
Old attractive Cloth & Cotton
Ice cream sticks
Hacksaw Small
Hacksaw Big
Vice
Hammer
Scale & Pencil
Drawings
- First photograph shows dimensions of the back & side of the small bunk bed.
- Second photograph shows dimensions of the front view.
Wood for the Floors
Measure 30.5cm long pieces of soft wood. Cut four pieces for four floors of small bunk bed.
Cutting 4 Pieces for Pillars.
Cut four pieces of 37cm long as shown in above photograph for pillars of small bunk bed.
Cutting Wooden Pieces for Sidings
Take 4.2cm wide wooden strip & cut following pieces as,
- 25.4 cm long four pieces for back side sidings.
- 13 cm long 8 pieces for both sides sidings.
- 15 cm long 2 pieces for front side sidings.
- 22 cm long 1 piece for front side top siding.
Fixing Floors to the Pillars.
Use ice cream sticks for stair case (as shown in above photograph). Start fixing floor pieces. Refer drawings in the step one. Nailing positions are also given in drawings to maintain aesthetics.

Creating Mattresses
Take card board of the floor size of the small bunk bed. Rap old attractive cloth on the card board piece & stich openings. Similarly create pillows of the appropriate size using cotton filling inside.
