Slow Cooker Breakfast

CAM02739.jpg

Looking for a hot breakfast, but know that your morning is going to be a busy one. Maybe you have people leaving the house at different times and they all could benefit from a good hot meal to start the day.

Make this breakfast the night before and you will have a hot breakfast waiting when you wake up.

Gather Your Ingredients

Here is your ingredients list: (These amounts are based on my large family

Tater-Tots (Or hash browns)

Eggs (I used an 18 pack)

Shredded Cheese (Choice in Flavor)

Bacon (Or Sausage)

Peppers (Green and Red), Onions, (I actually forgot these, but it is optional if you want)

Milk (For Scrambling the eggs)

Salt, Pepper, and other seasonings to taste.

Brown the Bacon

Start by browning the bacon, or the sausage if you are using that. You do not need to cook it fully, it will finish overnight.

Start Your Layering

Start you layering in the slow cooker:

Start with a good layer of tater-tots (or hash-browns) on the bottom.

Layer on some bacon, (Sausage)

If using them, add peppers and onions

Add a layer of cheese

Repeat layering process

Try to stop with a layer of tater-tots

Add the Eggs

Scramble up your eggs. Here I used 18 and made a good scramble. Then our the mix over the top. It will work its way down into the layers.

Top It Off

Add a final layer of cheese. I put on a good layer at this point. Sprinkle salt and pepper (or other seasonings) as you desire.

Set your timer. I like our slow cooker because it has a control that turns the heat down to warm after the set time.

I set my timer for 7 - 8 hours on low.

If you should forget about this meal until late at night, you can always set it to high for 3 - 4 hours.

Wake Up and Enjoy!!!
