Sloppy Jose.. a 6 in 1 Ible

Dscn2336.jpg
This is a variation on my daughters sloppy joe with several ways of serving it

Why Sloppy Jose?

Dscn2322.jpg
Why am I calling it sloppy jose? because sloppy joe is already taken AND I used a blend of spices I generally use for tacos and burritos. If you want the "recipe"  it's here https://www.instructables.com/id/taco-seasoning-recipe/ I might use a little more or a little less of different spices and I use a mesquite liquid smoke as well as mr's dash steak and chicken seasonings

What We Need

first lets thaw out about 2lbs of ground meat

now lets dig out some spices,
chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, italian seasoning, ground coriander, cayenne pepper , crushed red pepper flakes, cinnamon, dry mustard, mrs dash steak seasoning, mrs dash chicken seasoning, mrs dash hot and spicy, liquid smoke. Kosher salt

There are all kinds of guides and recipes out there for making taco seasoning and it IS a lot tastier than the prepackaged, I'm not giving amounts here because your tastes are different from mine and the amount you'll be making is probably different so experiment with the spices until you get a blend YOU and your family like.

half a large red onion, sweet peppers raided from neighbors garden
a can of rotel with habanero

the sauce
ketchup, yellow mustard, brown sugar, honey, red wine vinegar, a1 stylle steak sauce (basic sloppy joe sauce)

chop, dice, cut the peppers and onions, put in a hot skillet, add in your ground meat as well as your spice mix and cook until the meat is browned, strain off as much grease as possible and return to the hot skillet, add in the strained can of rotel and a couple good glugs of steak sauce, let cook for 5 minutes then add in about 1/2 a bottle of ketchup, 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 1/8 cup brown sugar, couple squirts of honey and a tablespoon of red wine vinegar. Bring mix to a bubble and let cook for 5minutes. If it looks to juicey/sloppy add in masa and let cook

I like a hard roll but a hamburger roll also works well, gut the top of the roll to allow more filling, put a couple tablespoons of meat mix on each half, top with shredded cheddar cheese and run under a broiler until the cheese is melty, serve with a napkin or 3

Take a large tortilla, add some shredded cheese and a couple tablespoons of meat mix in the center of a tortilla, fold up 2 sides and overlap the edges, now fold up the other 2 "sides"  carefully turn the meat package upside down on a baking sheet, spray the top with cooking spray and place in a toaster oven or regular oven @ 350f for about 5minutes then flip the package

I usually add some jalapeno peppers to mine, 2 or 3 makes a dent in a good hungry and these taste good cold

Open Face

open face, sorry no pics, this one is as easy as it sounds, lay down a piece of bread, cover with meat mix and shredded cheese, repeat layers

Grandsons Favorite Way

My 6yo granbrat likes to eat his sloppy joe cold on round crackers, it's actually rather good, my sloppy jose mix is a little spicier but it's just as good cold as it is warm.. oh yeah, of course I add a little hot sauce..

Corn Chips

no pics, pretty self explanatory, use big corn chips to eat meat and cheese mix either hot or cold from a bowl
