Skooma Bottle From Skyrim.

Hello! I am a student currently attending high school, and this is my first instructables project. For this project, I created a paper model of the iconic Skooma bottle from the game Skyrim. I’ve always loved crafting 3D models out of paper and this project allowed me to combine my love of gaming with my passion for paper modeling. This is one of the first 3D model templates I've made and it's been a great learning experience as I continue to improve my skills in 3D modeling. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I enjoyed making it!

Supplies

  1. Printout of the provided template.
  2. Scissor or Exacto knife
  3. Glue
  4. Ruler
  5. Toothpicks

Making the 3D Model

To make the 3D model I used Blender using a reference image from the game I made the 3D model in parts.

Next painted the 3D model in Blender as closely as possible to the reference. Finally I export the 3D model as an .obj file.

Making the Template

To make the template I used the program Pepakura. I imported the .obj file of the 3D model and it's texture file next I edited the template to make it easier to cutout the different parts. I labeled all the parts in the order of steps where Prefix B is for bottle, C for cork, G is gems and A for the paper cover.

Printing

I made two types of templates:

  1. Template has fold lines.
  2. Template has outline padding and no fold lines.

If you want to make this model for your self you can choose between both templates.

I used the second template because the final model looks more cleaner without the fold lines.

Cutting and Folding

Next I cutout and folded all the parts.

Some of the flaps of the template are too small to properly apply glue on them so I cut them as squares to provide me with proper surface to apply glue on. I also wrote there part number on there back to make it easier identify while assembling.

Assembly process was pretty straight-forward:

  1. Glue the flap of part B1 to form a frustum.
  2. Glue the parts B3 to B4 and B5.
  3. Next I glued part B6 to the previous combination to form the bottleneck
  4. Next I glued part B7 and B8 to the bottleneck this will be the inside of the bottle.
  5. Then I glued parts B9 to B10 this makes the lip of the bottle.
  6. Next I passed the bottleneck through the lip of the bottle and glued B11 to join both parts together.
  7. Then I joined the top to the body of the bottle and closed the bottom with part B2.
  8. Next I folded the rectangular price three times and curled it to make the handle.
  9. Finally glue the handle to the bottle

This concludes the assembly of the bottle.

Cork Assembly

Assembly of the cork is similar to the assembly of the bottle.

Glue part C1 to C2, C2 to C3, C3 to C4 and so on.

Assembly of Paper Cover

For the assembly of the paper cover:

  1. First I made a frustum with the part A1.
  2. Next glued the 4 gems on the paper cover.

Final Assembly

For the final assembly I slip on the cover on the bottle and closed the top with the cork.

And the Skooma bottle is complete.

I’m proud of how it turned out and even more motivated to keep improving and designing more complex models in the future. Thank you for checking out my project. I hope it inspires others to dive into the world of paper modeling and bring their favorite game elements to life!
