Simple and Sweet Burger Cookies
Its summer time and you are in need of a quick and easy finger food for your next outdoor barbeque. No need to worry, here is the perfect treat that will impress all of your friends and only takes minutes to make. This treat is both inexpensive and delicous. Follow my step-by-step instructable to learn how to make these fun sized snacks for your own summer gathering.
Ingredients
Here is what you will need:
1 box of vanilla wafer cookies
1 box of double chocolate fudge creme oreos (or any chocolate cookie that resembles a burger patty)
icing (notice in the picture i have store bought frosting, however a powder sugar and water blend for royal icing works wonderfully)
Food coloring (yellow, red, green)
3 ziplock sandwich bags
1 box of vanilla wafer cookies
1 box of double chocolate fudge creme oreos (or any chocolate cookie that resembles a burger patty)
icing (notice in the picture i have store bought frosting, however a powder sugar and water blend for royal icing works wonderfully)
Food coloring (yellow, red, green)
3 ziplock sandwich bags
Preparing Your Workspace
You can use any kind of frosting you would like, just make sure it does not need to be refrigerated and that it is white so that you can mix coloring into it. Mix a few drops of food coloring into bowls with about a fourth a cup of the white frosting in each and place into the plastic bags. Cut a small tip off of the plastic bag corner to pipe the frosting out of.
*** An easier but more costly method is to just buy premixed cake frosting tubes, then all you have to do is assemble.

Building the Burgers
- Lay vanilla wafers our with the flat side up for the bottom of the burger patty.
- Pipe yellow and red frosting around the edges of the wafer to represent the ketchup and mustard (be generous so they will stick)
- Place the oreo on the ketchup/mustard layer.
- pipe four lettuce leafs on the top "bun" (wafer) and top off your burger cookie
Enjoy!
Wrap them up, place them on a fancy plate, or store them in a cookie tin. These can be made several days (weeks even) in advance but really don't need to be because they only take minutes to assemble.
