Simple Scout Paracord Lanyard

A practical lanyard for a compass, whistle, mask or other scouting essential that can be used to also practice knots anytime!

• Two lines of paracord, 24 - 30 inches each
• One set of breakaway clips*
• One lanyard clasp

*preferred but optional - can also tie ropes together with overhand or square but not as safe

Thread the cord into the breakaway clips, tie small overhand knots near the ends of the cord.

Pull the knots small and tight, pull them into the breakaway clips, attach the clips.

The first time attaching the clips is the hardest, use a desk or surface to force them if needed.

Thread the two cords through the lanyard clasp, tie an overhand knot with both cords at the height you would like the clasp to be when around your neck.

Tie the loose ends as desired, practice knots such as the square knot or tie them up in a sliding overhand.
