This very simple project can be easily made by hand tools. You`re just gonna need to work more. In this tutorial we are using power tools but we will show you how to make joints by hand.

Cutting the Wood

Cut 6 pieces: 4 times 400 mm x 20 mm and 2 times 220 mm x 20 mm. We use the laminated beam of oak.

Mark the Joints

Now mark the joining places to all the pieces. For doing that you`ll need to find the center of them. The measure for the legs will be: 20 x 10 mm x 10 mm.

First cut as many stripes as possible using the hand saw. Then chop the wood using the chisel and hammer. Double check if the joining part is smooth and the other piece fits perfectly in.

Sanding

Sand all the surfaces using sanding paper no 120.

Glueing the Pieces Together

Glue the longer stick to the shorter one as seen on the picture. Now glue the second longer piece to the other side of the small stick. Repeat it.

Finishing

Sand and clean all the surfaces and start finishing with the polisher or oil.
