Hello everyone. In this project, I will show you how a small projector of a forest that changes color with the northern aura is very simple and fun.

It is better in the dark, remember to use a flashlight or a small light so that you can project it on the wall. I hope you enjoy this project :)

Supplies

The things you will need are mainly basics. You may have to buy some at a nearby stationery store, but you surely have a lot of them.

Black cardboard (180grs), markers, scissors, craft knife, ruler, scoring tool, other markers in various colours, clear acetate sheet, hot glue gun, hobby glue, double-sided tape and a flashlight.

Draw the Rectangles First

On the black cardboard and with the help of a white color and the ruler, draw two rectangles, one of 10 cm x 25 cm and another of 9 cm x 24.5 cm. Carefully cut each rectangle, these will help us to make two tubes, once join the ends with double-sided tape, one will fit inside the other.

Make the Screens

Now we are going to make the screens for each tube, remember that this is an aurora borealis that is projected, so we are going to make the outline that we have of both tubes on the acetate, we can use a thin marker that allows us to trace the circumference.

Make the Drawings

Once the circles have been drawn on the transparent acetate, we will be able to make our drawings of the dawn, in the smallest circle we will only draw a forest with the black marker, we can add many pines and other trees, remember not to fill all the space and only paint silhouettes.

In the largest circle we are going to paint in a circular way with the markers that we like the most and that remind us of the aurora, I chose green, blue and pink. you can use other colors. We paint in a circular way from the center to the outside, we mix them. Here we can have fun and fill all the space.

We Cut Out and Assemble Our Projector

At this moment, since we have drawn, we are going to carefully cut our two circles and we are going to glue each circle very carefully with hot silicone to one end of the black cardboard tubes, in such a way that they are well attached. We are close to enjoying our own Northern Lights!!

Enjoy Our Northern Lights.

With the circles and our images we are going to assemble our projector, we place the small tube inside the larger one and with this we have our small northern lights projector. Now we just have to turn off the lights and point a flashlight at the colored part and turn around the larger tube, we will see how the lights change in our little forest.
