PCB Stand
There are times when we want to hold a PCB in the air to help while soldering components on to a PCB or if you are like me, salvaging components from a PCB
One day, I was organizing my mechanical parts box and realized that the flat portion of 2 rivet nuts can be used to hold a PCB!
Supplies
The parts you need:
- Instant glue
- 8 x M4 rivet nut
- 4 x long M4 bolt
- 4 x M4/M5 washer
- Some M4 nuts
Build the Clamp
Steps:
- Hold the M4 bolt in your hand and rotate some M4 nuts down. The number of M4 nuts will determine the height at which the PCB is held.
- Then rotate the rivet nuts down with their flat circular faces connected to one other. Tighten the lower rivet nut and leave the upper one loose.
Repeat the above steps 4 times to make 4 of them. You can make more if you want to hold a large PCB but it will practically unuseful if the height is low
Attach Washers
Use instant glue to attach a washer to the head of the bold. The washer will add stability when it stands vertically
Whenever you want to hold a PCB, loosen the upper rivet nuts, place 4 of them at 4 edges/corners of the PCB and then tighten the upper rivet nuts.
