Simple Origami Frog

Origami frogs are quite easy to fold, and when done right, turn out fantastic.

Supplies

All you need is paper and your hands.

Step 1: Cross Folds

To start your origami frog, lay the paper vertically in front of you. Trim your paper to a 1:2 ratio at the desired size.

Fold the top right corner completely down, unfold and repeat with the left.

Your paper should have an X shape on the top.

Step 2: the Pinch

This is the hardest step of your origami frog, but don't be alarmed. Everything gets easier from here.

Simply pinch the two sides together, and fold down. Your origami frog should look like a house shape.

Step 3: the Fold-up

This is the last challenging step while making your origami frog. For this step, fold up the "wings" you have created with the pinch step.

Step 4: Side Folds

Almost done!

For this step, just fold both sides to be level with the "legs."

Step 5: Back "Legs"

For the final step, fold an accordion fold to create a spring mechanism for the back "legs."

Step 6: Decorate!

Now just add eyes and a mouth, and you are done!

You can also make your frog hop by pushing lightly on its back and curling your finger back in a "come here" motion.
