Simple Mosquito/bug Trap

This trap is super simple to make and will trap a variety of bugs making your backyard even better.

Supplies

2 liter plastic bottle
Knife
Sugar
Water
Yarn or rope

Preparing the Bottle

Cut the top of the bottle off as shown above
Tip: if the bottle is extremely hard to cut try heating your knife a little to make it easier.

Making the Bait

Heat one cup of water over the stove until just boiling
Add 1/3 cup sugar and stir until dissolved
Cool and pour into bottom half of cut bottle
You can also use juice
For better results put fruit or flowers in as well

Place top of bottle upside down in bottom of bottle
Poke holes through the points marked above with a knife or screwdriver
Cut a length of yarn or rope about 2 feet long
String the yarn or rope through the holes and tie at each end
Hang in an area with bugs favorably beneath a light and wait
