Hello there Halloween is coming when I think about Halloween the first thing that comes in and my mind is the scary-looking pumpkin.

So in this video tutorial, I'm gonna show you how to make a simple Halloween themed 3d printed music player using df player mini. We are making this music player without using any microcontroller so anyone can make this player. Now let's get started with this tutorial

Components Needed

  1. DF player mini - 1
  2. push buttons -3
  3. 3w speaker -1
  4. 3.7volt battery-1
  5. 3d printed pumpkin enclosure-1

The DFPlayer Mini MP3 Player is a small and low price MP3 module with a simplified output directly to the speaker. df player mini comes with a 3w inbuilt amplifier and it has an sd card slot. The module can be used as a stand-alone module with an attached battery, speaker and push buttons

Now let's build the circuit. First, I placed the df player mini on the breadboard then I placed 3 button switches. After that, I connected one side of each push button to the ground. Next, I connected the VCC pin of the df player to 5v finally I connected wires to push buttons. Now let's add a speaker to the circuit. Also, I connected the df player ground to ground. It's time to power the circuit here I am using a 3.7volt li-ion battery.

Soldering the Circuit

Now let's build the circuit permanently so I took a small piece of dot and inserted all switches and soldered.

Next, I connected enamelled copper wires to the switch and then I Connected that wires to the df player. Also connected other wires. Finally, I added an orange led to the circuit and tested it once again.

Adding Music to SD Card

The DFPlayer Mini module can't access the MP3 files directly by file name. Instead, it uses file numbers.

first, create an mp3 folder on your sd card. then copy all the songs that you want. Now We should rename the mp3 files and the file name should start with 4 digits. Like 0001.mp3,0002.mp3 etc.

I got this design from Thingiverse you can download the .stl file from here. I used orange filament to get a real pumpkin feel.

Putting Everything Together

Finally, I inserted everything inside the pumpkin enclosure and that's. you can also refer to the making video if you are interested in building something similar.
