A Homemade Diode Bridge Rectifier With Aluminum Fins Heatsink

Through this channel, I designed a rectifier diode with a heatsink for cooling elements from 6A10 diodes to be assembled into rectifier diodes.

The background of making the design is to give an idea to assemble a 12 A diode bridge (rectifier) capacity. Previously, I used a 25A factory-made rectifier and assembled it with a 10 A transformer to make a 12 V car battery charger; it turned out that this rectifier was too hot, causing the elements attached to the transformer to burn (although a heatsink was attached). In this model, I use a homemade rectifier/diode bridge with a heatsink element attached to it so that the diode bridge workload from the transformer becomes efficient and dissipates heat generated by the circuit due to the high current through it..

what you need :

-Diodes 6A10 MIC 4 pieces.

- A screw and nut and 2 fender washers.

- An 5x10 cm aluminum fin heatsink.

Join the diode wires to make a bridge rectifier according to the pictures, followed by bending them 90 degrees according to the picture.

Put the bolt, washers and screw in the hole in the middle of the bridge you made and secure it with the proper wrench. Solder all the male connectors to all joined wires.

Connect the joined bridge to the heatsink and secure it. Connect the joined diode legs to the transformer cables and two (+) and (-) output cables following the diagram above.
