Simple DIY Glass Candle Holder Design

IMG_3139.png

Today we will create a simple do-it-yourself craft. This craft was under five dollars and takes very few materials. I only had to pick up two of the main materials, the glass jar, and the wall creation leaf design. If you're ready I will provide you with a material list, and step, by step instructions.

Supplies

Materials

One glass jar-Purchased at Dollar Tree

One wall creation decal sticker design-Purchased at Dollar Tree

Frosted glass spray

Gold wire

One Wire cutter

Optional- craft gems with sticky backing

Applying Frosted Glass Spray Paint to Glass Candle Jars

First, take your two glass jars, and give them a quick wash. This will help to remove any residue that may be left from the purchase sticker after removing it. Be sure to take a cloth, and completely dry your glass jars.

Once you have allowed your jars to completely dry, lay out a section of cardboard, and take your frosted glass paint, and apply it onto your glass jars. When you spray your jars, be sure to move to a well-ventilated area.

Once you have sprayed your jars, allow the frosted glass spray to sit between coats. I applied two coats of spray and allowed it to sit 10 minutes between each.

Adding on Your Gold Leaf Decal

Next, take your leaf decal, and apply it to a section of your glass jars. If you find that the leaves are too long, take scissors, and cut sections off. This will help with the placement of your leaf design.

Cutting and Attaching Your Gold Wire to Glass Jars

Next, using your wire cutter, begin to cut a medium-length section of wire. You will need two strands. Take one strand and begin to wrap it around the bottom section of your glass jar. Once you have wrapped it around the bottom section, begin to twist the two ends of the wire. This will create a swirl design.

Repeat this step with your second strand on the top section of your glass jar.

Optional: Adding on Gems

This last step is completely optional, but if you have graft gems, be sure to add those. I had a few craft gems that have a sticky backing to them.

Your Design Is Complete!

Your glass candle holder design is complete. All that is left is to add a battery-operated candle to the inside of your glass jar.

I love how simple this DIY project was, it was affordable, and it looks beautiful. Be sure to let me know if you decide to create your very own.

Thank you so much for crafting with me!
